CHASEN "SHIN" - BAMBOO WHISK (WHITE)

This is a special round shaped CHASEN bamboo whisk, cut out of white bamboo.

This version of the SHIN shape is the flagship design used by the  school Omote senke 表千家from Kyoto, one of the three schools having direct lineage from Sen no Rikyu. Originally, the SHIN Omotesenke whisk material was smoked bamboo. Those are extremely rare nowadays, thus versions made of white and black bamboos have been produced instead.

All our bamboo whisks are made by hand by artisans in the famous craft town called Takayama in NARA Prefecture.

This whisk is of excellent grade, long lasting and particularly appreciated by its rounded shape.

Washing instructions: rinse gently with lukewarm water after use. Let it dry naturally. Do not rub or use detergent on the whisk.
